The explosions in the night
Sparks falling from the sky
Millions of little lights
Falling like amber rain
Clouded ash and angry wind
Will cause our eyes to strain
The gray walls closing in
We’re fighting through pain
Screams arise as fires spread
We die if we remain
Run fast to stay ahead
The falling amber rain
The shots ring out as before
One fear flooding our veins
They stop when it is sure
The last of us are slain
But you and I will endure
Beyond the rising flame
Hand in hand we will race
Through falling amber rain
Our feet take us far away
Across black fields of grain
Reach for the break of day
And leave the
All is silent, black like a storm, the silence swirls around me. There are flickers of light, glitches of reality in the distance. I move my eyes to get a better look, but all is still. The lights flash by, making me jump, threatening to crush my already throbbing skull. Echoes of whispers touch my ears, and tell my soul to let go.
I refuse.
The cold wind wraps itself around me, but I cannot shiver, only grow rigid and wait for judgment. My mouth is a thin line. I will not give in to the madness. But it grows, and the lights return like snowflakes gently falling onto my arms. Is it really that bad? the echoes ask me.
Perhaps
The heated summer haze warms my tired eyes as I wave yet another farewell to you. The memories of childhood flash through my mind like a heat wave, leaving me numb as the sun begins to set with them.
The dust drifts over the dry grass as you drive away, leaving me alone on the porch to watch the sun paint the sky.
My friend, how I miss the carefree spirit days of our youth; I wish we could run over the hills with the sun glowing in our hair again. Today I would even consider climbing the tallest tree in the yard to escape the memories I’m drowning in.
But nothing can be done the same way twice. The days gone by are
When time it flies
It travels far
The road’s not soft
It leaves a scar
But laugh along
Till tears come through
The scars they hurt
Because of you
I saw your face
It stopped the time
I laid with you
Your hand in mine
We saw the stars
The moon and sun
We laughed along
The day was done
Lost track of time
The hours passed
You got me free
But not too fast
We took the stage
And looked around
With no one else
It’s you I found
And I believed
The world was mine
With you to share
We had the time
But I was wrong
How wrong I was
We missed a day
It was because
You lost the time
It got to you
I didn’t see
The seconds few
If I had know
The eyes flick open
And gaze across
The empty skyless night
The hand it sweeps
Across the brow
Over the endless sight
The mind it hates
The gluttonous soul
Inside the fake regime
So tips the hat
To hide the mood
Rage against the machine
He hates the heart
The metallic part
That pumps the silver blood
He loathes the lungs
The heated bronze
That breathes the coal black flood
He detests the day
That saw its rise
That welded its last seam
He abhors it all
The screws and bolts
The golden eyes that gleam
Now concentrate
It must be done
He stops himself to think
You know the crime
You have the cause
You’re standing on the brink
It’s th
There once lived a man
Who went to sea
To seek not fortune nor fame
But to travel afar
And place his heart
Where no one else could claim
But had he known
One ship would follow
His own to other skies
A ship with a captain
As fair as any
But also cunning and wise
With oaken hair
The purest skin
And eyes that reflected the sea
Eyes they say
That could change at will
Be they blue, gray, or green
Laugh as you might
My tales rings true
The next I share is so
That from his ship
The sailing man
Found a place to stow
His heart now lost
To sandy depths
Far beneath the trees
Where he left
The thing to rot
Decay and disease

Master Assassin (Surprise)
Not a thing stirred but by the rolling breeze that swept the meadow's hills. On top of one of these knolls sat a shadowed figure, silently watching its surroundings under the blanket of night. Until with but the faintest movement, the hulking form motioned to something behind it.
Seconds later it was joined by another figure, clad as the first in a dark blue cloak that fluttered in the wind.
"What do you see, Master?" the other shadow whispered from beneath its cloak, its voice soft and gentle.
"Nothing." The first replied; its voice deep and rumbling compared to the o
Where am I? Why is it so cold?
A light burst to life in front of me, white and blinding. I waited for my eyes to adjust… but they didn't. The light just kept shining on my face, blocking out anything else.
"Hello?" I called out, my voice cracking. "Where am I?"
"You're in a safe place."
I jumped at the sudden answer to my question, almost tipping over the chair I was sitting on.
I swallowed, trying to keep my voice from shaking. "And where is this safe place?" I asked.
A long winded sigh came from somewhere beyond the light, followed by the same deep, echoing voice. "Do you know why you're here, Cupid?" It asked, ap
